liposuction

There are several types and variations of liposuction surgery. Each one of them aims at achieving a better result and satisfying the patients or surgeon’s needs. Here are the most common types of liposuction cosmetic surgery.

Traditional liposuction (power assisted suction)

Fat extraction is achieved through a cannula and by the surgeon’s movements with the cannula. This method is still relevant today thanks to new knowledge.

Tumescent liposuction

With this technique, a liquid is injected in the treatment area consisting of anesthesia (lidocaine and local anesthetic), epinephrine (which constricts blood vessels) and liquid that helps swell and harden fat areas in order to extract fat more easily and minimize bleeding.

Ultrasound assisted liposuction, or VASER liposuction

Under the effect of ultrasounds, fat deposits are broken down, which makes their removal with liposuction with cannulas easier. This method helps remove fat cells in dense and fibrous areas of the body such as the back. VASER liposuction is considered as one of the most efficient fat removal surgical techniques today as it offers excellent results and treats a wide variety of areas.

Laser assisted liposuction

Laser is used to break down fat before removal, which makes fat removal as well as the patient’s recovery easier, because nerve tissue, connective tissue and vascular tissue are not touched during surgery. Just like VASER liposuction, laser assisted liposuction stimulates the production of collagen.

After liposuction, fat can reappear if you do not take care of yourself or if you do not change your dietary habits. Eating healthy, exercising regularly and staying active during the day are the best ways to ensure liposuction results are durable.

Don’t forget to keep on making sport, that’s the better way to have a healthy life.
